Amy Jenner

Amy Jenner

Chairperson

Amy (also goes by Tinks - you can ask her why) is the chief whip of Caerphilly Tri-ers. She recently returned to Wales after living in France for 10 years. Upon returning home to Caerphilly, Amy wanted to continue doing triathlon with other like minded individuals. After discovering that Caerphilly had no active triathlon club, she set to work and Caerphilly Tri-ers was born! Amy is the sixth member of Girls Aloud, which means, despite living in France for 10 years, she "can’t speak French"...

Nick Butler

Nick Butler

Welfare Officer

Father of 2 little princesses and a keen sportsman who has tried his hand at most things. After being thrown around the rugby field for years like a rag doll by the big boys and breaking nearly every bone in his body. Nick took to running and has so far completed 4 marathons and numerous half marathons. He now faces his biggest challenge to date, his first triathlon. Oh and trying to keep his daughters future boyfriends from entering the house!

Kieran John

Kieran John

Communications Officer

Kieran is in charge of absolutely nothing at Caerphilly Tri-ers. Kieran started triathlon at the age of 8 and currently races in domestic elite races. Kieran trains at the National Triathlon Performance Centre Wales. Kieran is a qualified pilot and loves to talk (annoy people) about it.

Kieran‘s strength’s are in making tea, moaning and reciting pointless film quotes. He also runs the website.

Gareth Key

Gareth Key

Treasurer

Having spent a number of years playing rugby, hurdling (even with those short legs!) swimming and coaching, Gareth ventured into the world of triathlon 2015 by completing the Cardiff Triathlon. Since Cardiff he’s gone to finish a half iron distance with the hope to one day go the full distance.

He hates hills but loves rides when there’s a cake and coffee stop en route!

Mark Brooks

Mark Brooks

Sponsor committee member

Mark in his own words - My sporting ability has been likened to an old diesel train, not pretty, not fast but reliable in the way that I‘ll just keep plodding on. I’ve run a few marathons and hope to make 2017 my 5th London Marathon outing and my claim to fame in triathlon is being the last but one swimmer to finish in my first open water event. Narrowly beating a woman in her late 60’s and having swum 800 metres more than everybody else because my sighting was so bad. I love a challenge and hope to get through Ironman Wales 2017
